Meta-analysis of HbA1c at the end of the intervention with between-study comparison based on baseline HbA1c values. Weight assigned to each study was determined using the inverse variance (IV) method which assigns weight based on the inverse of the variance of the effect estimate (one over the square of the standard error). Studies with smaller standard errors are given more weight than those with larger standard errors [19]. The size of the square representing the measure of effect is proportional to the percent weight assigned to each study on the forest plot.
